Not-So End of Day 5

Well we are at the air port and finished with the teaching of day five but we are about 8 hours from being at our hotel, so it's not really over.  We journeyed the ancient path up Mount Carmel learning more about what the kingdom is and how we bring it.  We learned with Elijah that its not by might nor by power, but by G-d's Spirit.   Elijah on the mountain called down fire from heaven consuming a bull, twelve stone and the water that had been poured over it all, and the next day he had to flee for his life because nothing had really changed.  he continues to call down the fire of G-d but it does not change things.  then G-d sends him to take a disciple, just one.  When Elijah asks his disciple Elisha what he wants he says double what you had.  I am not sure exactly what to expect in Turkey but I believe that we must take that kind of passion with us if we want to bring the kingdom of heaven.

It has been a fast paced day that we are rushing to make planes and a bus eventually, but so far we are doing well and have about 45 minutes to sit and relax.  It is hard to keep track of the days but I am trying.  I already see our world and culture creeping back in as people make there mad dash for Mcdonalds here at the airport, I realize it seems small but it is hard for me after spending the morning at a crusader fort outside Galilee listening to the horrible atrocities that were committed to millions of people in the name of our Messiah Jesus.  It is horrible, Jesus came to bring shalom and yet for 1800 years his followers have brought chaos.  I know most of you and you know me, our lives have enough chaos in them.  It is time we brought peace to one another and to the world we live in, one disciple at a time.

I am praying for you all as G-d lays you on my heart, especially our children, that G-d will make them a generation that is passionate for his name.

Am enjoying your blog. We took this trip with RVL in June, 2007, and it continues to change our lives. By the way, Marc deWaard is our former pastor and a great friend. Could you say hi to him for us and give him a hug (and maybe slip him into a picture or two?) Enjoy the rest of your journey! Brenda Roosma, Lynden, WA

hey, guys, will you please let the parents of the children who are at Bracken know that I am going to eat lunch with them soon. I know their little ones are doing pretty good but just want to go love on them. Love you and miss you all! Tink was flying around tonight and Zane loved it!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to share the events and pictures of your day with us. In less than 24 hours, my husband (Marc de Waard) had said "yes" to the trip and was on a plane to Israel! I had no time to mentally prepare for his leaving. Your blog has helped me to feel connected with him and share in his experiences from a distance --and even anticipate some upcoming sermon series?? :o) So, thanks for giving up sleep time for blog time. It's appreciated!
Blessings on you & the group,
Kathy de Waard, Hamilton, MI

Thanks to Brooke and Ben for being a part of our lives. You'll never know how much of an impact you've made on our family. I feel so connected to you all. I figured out that I can zoom in on the pictures and see you faces! Caleb, aren't you so proud of me? For some reason the picture of Robert, Caleb, Josh, Evans and Esther brought tears to my eyes. I just felt the deep call to pray for each of you; Es, you are loved. Don't forget to wear your headband!Joanie, your baptism brought tears of joy to me. Robert, thanks for the challenge to consume the Text. We are. Love you ALL!

Well...Macy moo wanted to know if, when Bennie Boy left her a message on the blog, did he say, "I love you twimp"? Of course, we assured her that was EXACTLY what he said!
Papa ER is arriving shortly to see his namesake, Lyndsey is doing good but her blood pressure is high and she is swollen--so we are monitoring her. Little er is GREAT!
