Big News!!

Well, it's the news everyone's been waiting for...WE'RE EXPECTING!! (well, at least the news our parents have been waiting for)

We are about 9 weeks along, so still a long way to go. We have visited the doctor, seen pictures, and heard a heart beat already! We will post the sonogram pictures soon! Baby B is due in late October. So far things are going really well, I feel great other than being pretty tired and hungry all the time.

Anywho, here is the blog Ben wrote the day I told him we were pregnant and some pics of the unveiling. Enjoy.

2/26/09
So today I come home from visiting Doc McCash about my pink eye, twice in three weeks, but he says it is allergies. I believe him because he is the Doc. My wife has seemed anxious for me to come home. So I arrive and as I walk in she says, “Go get the mail.” I am not sure what is so urgent in our mailbox, but she says, I do. As I open the mailbox there is a strange package.

I look at the package and it is from Storkville, strange place but maybe one of her friends is pregnant and wanted her to know. Then I see that they live on Expectant Lane, which is sort of weird, but still goes along with a friend who is pregnant. I wanted to open it to see who it was, but its Brooke’s mail(I assumed). Then I flip it over and it is addressed to me. Now things seem to spin and my mind recalls all the details of what has happened today.

I open it standing in my front door to find two pregnancy tests, both positive. A strange feeling of shock and awe flood over me as I read the note attached. WE ARE PREGNANT!!! I am so excited, and yet it is very sudden. I was barely aware that we were trying, evidently it was on a “need to know” and I didn’t need to know. I only found out by accident because she was acting weird, but she took a test a month in and it was negative, that was little more than a week ago. I just figured G-d would provide in his time. Now that it is his time, I find myself asking him some questions like, “Are you sure you thought this through G-d?” I mean I may be old, but am I ready? I find that maybe I am not but I have 9-10 months to sort it out. Our conversation continues, “I am not sure that I will be a good dad.” This I realize is faulty logic, because He evidently believes I can be. He is trusting me with one he loves more than I can understand, that is a huge vote of confidence. It seems to me that He has that faith in all those he gives children to; that the creator believes in us, more than we believe in ourselves. Not that we all live up to our potential all the time, but that the potential is there.

May I strive to live into that potential everyday, because there is no other plan. I am so excited, this is an amazing thing G-d is doing in our lives. Praise Him from whom all blessing come. Blessed is G-d the author and creator of life.

Home from a great time!

Well after 10 hours in the car today, we are finally home from our Oklahoma Spring Break. We have been away from all technological advances (well, at least the internet), so we this will be a super huge blog with lots of pictures. We had a great time visiting all of the family and enjoying the beauty of the lake. The weather went from 38 degrees on Fri and Sat to a beautiful 75 the past two days, which was great. We spent most of our days playing with the babies and hanging out with the family, nothing too exciting. We went into Tulsa one evening to have dinner with Ben's Uncle and granddad which was fun. There were like 14 of us at the table which is always fun, especially when you have 4 little ones. It was sad to leave today, but boy am I glad to be able to sleep in my own temperpedic bed tonight!! So here are some pictures for your enjoyment. Back to the grindstone tomorrow

Maggie loved the bucking bronco. She kept saying Woo Hoo and Yee Haw.

3 Days and Counting

So I have been a really bad blogger lately. I am so sorry. We leave in just a few short days for our trip to Oklahoma to see the babies. We are so excited. A week at the lake with some of my favorite people in the world. Mind you, I have a ton of work to do while I am there...but don't be fooled, my primary task is to spend time with the nieces and nephews. So stayed tuned in the next few days for blog updates. Here are  few pictures to tide you over till then.
