Happy Birthday Adiya Grace!

Yes, it's been over two months since I have updated the blog...which really means that I have neglected the last two months of my baby girls baby book. Oops.

Weight: 21lb 6oz
Height: 28 in
Head:18.75 in
Weight to Height: 98%

Over the past two months Adiya Grace your precious personality has really started to come out. At 10.5 months you started walking and walking with purpose. Once you figured out how to get your little legs underneath you, there was not stopping you. You are busy, busy, busy. You are always on the go and always trying to keep up with your brother. You are such a tiny little thing, so seeing you motoring around everywhere seems a little funny. You love playing the cabinets, pulling out the cleaning supplies, throwing the cups on the floor, sticking your hands in the sugar drawer, and playing in the bottom of the pantry. You love opening and closing doors. You think you are so big--and frankly you are!

You love music and you love to dance. You have this great little shoulder shake that you do when you are really into the tunes. When you realize your loving family is watching, you get an instant smile on your face. You love to clap for yourself and for others. You love your brother--so very much. When you get up in the morning you immediately head for his room, that is if he isn't already in yours loving on you. You love it when he chases you around the house and squeal with great delight when he tickles you. He loves you so very much too.

You are learning to communicate your needs and wants, sometime you use your words--and sometimes your very loud squeal. You certainly have an opinion on the world. You can say mamma, dadda, bubba, bye bye, ball, this, uh-oh, and hi. You can sign more and have just recently starting signing "please"--although instead of rubbing your own chest, you rub ours. When I come home from work, I know I will be greeted by your little smiling face coming down the hallway. Your enthusiastic "hiya" makes my heart melt...every.single.time.

You started at parents day out two days a week. You seem to enjoy your time there and no longer cry when we leave you. I think you love hanging out with people your size and you love that you have lots of things to climb on. You love to climb--your daddy found you on the back of the couch the other day. You had climbed into your chair, onto the couch, and then to the back of it. Again, your daddy makes sure you are so safe :).

You love to eat--food is truly the way to your heart. You are a fan of most everything--crackers, eggs, cheese, veggies, and fruit. You love most meat too! With over 10 teeth it is no wonder you love to eat.
You sleep like a champ from 7:30pm-7am or so.  It is such a blessing to have such a good sleeper. You aren't the greatest napper, but I suppose that is a trade-off for your great night time sleeping. You are still nursing morning and night.  You love hanging out with your mom and playing with my hair when you are in my lap. You also have started playing with your own hair when you are sleeping.

You love to read. Whenever we talk about reading you will go grab a book, back your little bottom up to me and sit down in my lap. You love sitting in people's laps when they are on the floor. You also love sitting in chairs just your size. You love to play with toys--especially any of bubba's toys. You aren't really into baby dolls or girly things just yet--probably because we have failed to buy you those things.

You had a great Splish, Splash first birthday party despite the fact that your mom scheduled it during your nap time. Oops! You weren't quite sure what to think of your cake at first, but you quickly decided it was worth digging into.

Oh sweet Adiya Grace, you are a treasure of God, who blesses us each and everyday with your precious personality and love of life. I can't wait to see you grow into the woman God has called you to be. We love you so much.

Adi at her one year appointment. So big.
Splish spash, it's Adiya's 1st Birthday Bash!
Sweet girl!

This cake thing is pretty squishy.

I guess I'll give it a try.
Oh this is yummy.

Eating birthday cake is a full contact sport.
