The Oregon Trail

Well the long awaited trip to the stix of Oregon is over, and I am ready for the next one. My grandfather ER and I went to go fishin' with my cousin Jerry. The fishin' was great, the catchin', not so much. It didn't matter, the scenery was beautiful, and the weather gorgeous. Some of the mornings were a bit cool but the sun came out and it warmed up quickly. I would like to thank our guide Frank who was amazing and took care of everything. ER said "I never been fishing when I didn't have to bait a hook before." I would also like to thank Jerry and Sheryl for putting us up and not complaining too much about it. And to Shelly and Salu for the oysters and cigars...fantastic. They bought 8 dozen oysters for us to eat, Jerry and I ate maybe one dozen of them while ER finished off the other seven dozen. I got full just watching him eat. He must have quite the stomach to eat 7 dozen raw oysters, just thinking about it makes me have to go to the bathroom.

Well I will start with the fishing. We were fishing on the Umpqua River out of a boat for spring Chinook.

We had plenty of time for bird watching, and saw lots of bald eagles, ospry, and geese by the dozens.

The one fish we did catch, wasn't much to look at, but sure was good eatin'.

The scenery was well worth the trip, the company, could have been better.

My cousin Shelly said it was like I was visiting a nursing home.

ER Found his true Indian name, the Umpqua flycatcher. I am going to write a short story about his adventures fishing in Oregon soon.

Here are the oysters I ate, poached.

Part 2: While we were awake.

I got a little sun today.

The oysters don't shuck themselves ER.

And of course i brought souvenirs.

And it is always nice to be missed, sweet Kassidy, I love you too.

More videos to follow, and stay tuned for Callipooya and the Umpqua Flycatcher.

So, it is becoming clear to me why you didn't catch any fish. Everyone was asleep while the fish were biting!

Beautiful pictures though, I am glad you had such a great time!
